The East Prince RCMP is asking for the public's help following a theft from a Maritime Electric substation in Springfield, PEI.
The theft is believed to have occurred sometime during the evening or overnight hours of August 21, 2022, at a Maritime Electric substation on Rattenbury Road. During the theft, a power transformer sustained extensive damage. A large quantity of copper grounding wire was stolen.
Anyone who may have information about the theft, or who witnessed suspicious activity in the area during the evening of August 21, is asked to contact the East Prince RCMP at 902-436-9300. The public plays an important role in preventing thefts and is encouraged to report any suspicious activity to their local police. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
