Dedicated transformers installed at Covid-19 hospitals and quarantine centres in Nagaland - Eastern Mirror

Dimapur, April 27 (EMN): The department of Power, Nagaland (DoPN) has informed that installation of dedicated power transformers and associated lines to various designated Covid-19 hospitals and quarantine centres in the state has been completed and ready for use.

An update issued by the chief engineer of Power department on Monday informed that an 11/0.4 KV 500 KVA transformer has been installed at Covid-19 hospital (District Hospital) in Dimapur; 11/0.4 KV 100 KVA transformer and LT cabling works at Covid-19 hospital in Kohima (Naga Hospital Authority Kohima); 11/0.4 KV 25 KVA transformer with associated 11 KV and LT lines at quarantine centre in Peren, and three phase LT line at State Institute of Health and Family Welfare, Chumoukedima.

“The department has also inspected and carried out repair and installation works for power connections at various designated quarantine and isolation centres (Covid-19) in the existing buildings across the state as identified and earmarked by the Health and Family Welfare department and the district administration,” the update read.

The DoPN stated that it took up the electrical installation works on a war footing considering the urgency of the need and importance of providing power supply to the designated Covid-19 hospitals and quarantine centres. It also expressed gratitude to the law enforcing agencies and the volunteers from various organisations on Covid-19 duty for allowing the personnel fo the department to carry out their duties during the lockdown, enabling them to complete the slated work on time.
