All classes at Grants High School have been cancelled for today after a transformer ruptured near the school on Friday morning.

According to a social media post made by the school, police responded to the school for what was thought to be gunshots fired in the area of the high school. Police responded and deemed the area safe.

Police say the transformer ruptured near Roosevelt and Pena across from school grounds.

There was no shooting in the area and all students and staff are safe.

Due to the incident, district officials have cancelled classes for all Grants High School students.
